OktoBEERfest - Thursday, October 22nd at Shea's Performing Arts Center, 646 Main St. in Buffalo, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Grand Lobby.  Music from the Auslanders, plus beer samplings and a souvenir glass.  Tickets are $25 presale, $30 at the door; find out more at sheas.org.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat - Friday and Saturday, October 23rd and 24th at the Amherst Museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Rd. in Amherst, from 5 to 9 p.m. both evenings.  Admission is $4 for adults, $7 for children; call 716-689-1440 for tickets and additional information.

25th Annual Apple Festival - Saturday, October 24th at the Clarence United Methodist Church, 10205 Greiner Rd. in Clarence, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..  More information is available at clarencechurch.com.

Peek 'n Peak Beer and Wine Festival - Saturday, October 24th at Peek 'n Peak Resort and Spa, 1405 Olde Rd. in Clymer, from 3 to 7 p.m.  Featuring breweries and wineries including Magic Hat, Southern Tier Brewing Co., Merritt Estates Winery, and Heron Hill Winery.  Tickets are $25 presale, $30 at the door; for more information, visit pknpk.com.

Roswell Park All-Star Night - Saturday, October 24th at Shea's Performing Arts Center, 646 Main St. in Buffalo, from 6 p.m. to midnight.  Silent auction, hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails in Shea's Grand Lobby; white-tie gala to benefit cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park.  For tickets and information call 716-845-3517 (Rose McDermitt) or visit roswellpark.org.

Hallowine on the Niagara Wine Trail - Saturday and Sunday, October 24th and 25th at various wineries along the Niagara Wine Trail, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.  Collect clues at each participating winery to solve the murder mystery.  $20 ticket includes tasting at each winery, commemorative glass, and information to get you started solving the "crime."  Visit niagarawinetrail.org for a list of participating wineries and more information.
