Early Childhood Education

Library Class

Friday, July 17th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.

At Aura, while mom and dad wine and dine and savour what they are being fed the kids will be eating up the words of the book that they are being read.  Sign up for library class with Roxbury native and children's author/illustrator Mary Newell dePalma who will read from her book Grand Old Tree and walk the little spectators through the life-cycle of the dogwood tree with her book illustrations.

Zoology

Friday, July 31st from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.

At Aura, animal specialists from Zoo New England will bring the zoo to Aura for an evening of animals to entertain your future little zoologists and veterinarian.

Agriculture/Culinary School

Friday, August 14 5:30 - 8:00 pm.

Aura's chef, Rachel Klein, will take guests on a tour of her herb garden located on the terrace of the Seaport Hotel.  At the end of the tour, Chef Klein will plant with the children and each child will leave with their own potted herb.  

Aura offers their "Family-Style" summer series in a setting where children feel at home while their parents can enjoy an excellent meal together.  Each special guest will lead the children in a discussion activity or lesson while parents enjoy their sophisticated meal nearby.  The "graduate" crowd select  from a $30 prix fixe menu while children enjoy their menu of healthy kid-friendly fare.  Reservations are strongly recommended.  To reserve a spot call (617) 385-4300.

Bittersweet Bachelor's Degree

Monday, July 20th 7:00 - 9:00 pm. 

Join Craigie on Main's Bar Manager extraordinaire, Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli for a class at the bar.  This is one history class and lab you won't want to miss.  For this interactive class you'll get a brief history of bitters, you'll make a number of drinks with and without bitters, and develop a keen palate toward a balanced cocktail.  Then you'll learn to make your own bitters.  After class, your only homework will be expanding your home bar repertoire.  There are only a few spots left so please call (617) 497-5511 to claim your spot.  

Prepping for the Bar

Adam Lantheaume, of The Boston Shaker, has some great upcoming classes.  If you want to raise the bar for cocktails in your neighbourhood then head over to The Boston Shaker @ Grand to be schooled.

Upcoming classes include:  Craft Cocktails Technique Workshop, Bitters: Taste and Learn, Cachaça Tasting (If you have not tried a caipirinha then you've been missing out.), among others.
