And the winner is ... no one. At last night's debate between the Democratic candidates running to fill Ted Kennedy's seat, no one distinguished themselves in a positive way. In fact, they all said nearly the same thing in response to every question. However, I do feel there was one clear loser: Alan Khaezi.
Khaezi consistently ignored questions, ran over time, and went onto tangents on issues not remotely related to holding a U.S. Senate seat- namely casino gambling.
However, I felt the remainder of the candidates had a good outing, which gives the edge to frontrunner Attorney General Martha Coakley. She had a solid performance, and seemed a tad bit more politically savvy than either Congressman Capuano or Steve Pagliuca. However, Capuano got his humurous jibes in, mostly at the expense of Khaezi, and Pagliuca did make it clear that he has the knowledge a senator should have in order to make the right decisions for Massachusetts and the country.
Personally, I'm still split between who I lend my vote. Right now, after looking at Capuano's voting record at ontheissues.org, I am split between Coakley and Pagliuca.
Who has your support? And are you planning on getting out to vote for them come Decemeber?
