Rasmussen has released a new poll (available as a nice chart at the very bottom of this page) that shows Democrats beating out Republicans on whether or not they can be trusted on the issues. On half the issues the Democrats hold a double digit lead over the GOP. Perhaps this will be demonstrated in upcoming popularity polls as well, meaning Obama very well may have a surge in popularity. If McCain was worried before (as he should be based on past polling) he must be shaking in his boots now.

The American people have woken up to what the Republicans have put this country through in the last eight years. It also demonstrates a belief that Democrats can accomplish what they set out to do should they win this election cycle. It seems the Democrats are winning back those working class voters that used to be the backbone of the party. Perhaps McCain should continue to try and distance himself from the party, more than he has been recently. Let Palin attract the base, McCain should be going after the Independents and the Reagan Democrats that he needs to win this election come November 4th.
