The ying-yang and S'mores dip at the Melting Pot

A great thing to break out on Valentine's Day is the fondue. Whether you make it at home for your loved one or hit local fondue restaurants with the girls, this is a skill that should certainly be appreciated on Valentine's Day. After all, everything tastes better dipped in chocolate and strawberries are on sale at most grocery stores because of the holiday.

If you're going to make chocolate fondue at home, I'd suggest two large Symphony or Hershey's chocolate bars and strawberries or apples to dip in it. Target has a great electric fondue pot for only $29.99. It's doesn't involve an open flame or any kind of canned gas, it's easy to clean, and it has a special break-away eletrical chord that can keep you from burning yourself. You can even immerse the whole thing in water or the dishwasher if you easily remove the temperature control and the break-away chord.

If going out for fondue, I'd hit the Melting Pot which has extended hours on February 14th (1pm-11pm). It'll be busy so a reservation is a good idea; however, if you simply can't get in on V-Day, they have a great happy hour Monday-Friday 5-6:30pm where selected foods and drinks are discounted if ordered and consumed at the bar.
