Not only can you calm yourself, clear your mind, and get a workout in, but you can attempt to do the same for your dog through Doga, also known as Dog Yoga. Kari Harendorf, owner of East Yoga, merged her yoga training with her dog training to create classes designed to give your furry loved one 45 minutes of uninterrupted attention, bonding and love.
The benefits also include learning ways to calm your dog and using techniques that can aid both circulation and digestion processes.
If you’re a yogi, why not bring doggie along with you? Or if you’re not, why not try something new? Be adventurous! Classes vary weekly, so it is recommended to call (212) 420-8411. A single class costs $18, and affordable package deals are available. The studio is at 212 Avenue B (enter on 13th St., one door in from the SW corner of Avenue B).
