Will Las Vegas Sands out do Wynn Resorts in Hong Kong IPO offering?

After going public with their Hong Kong IPO the Wynn Resorts raised $1.6 billion from the Asia market, and now Las Vegas Sands is looking to beat that number by almost 1 Billion more. The Las Vegas Sands Corp. is hoping to raise a whopping $2.5 billion with their initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong.

As is with many land based gaming operators the economy has put a damper on their bottom lines, the Las Vegas Sands Corp. is no different than the rest in fact they have slowed and even stopped projects due to the increasing debt from the slow economy, however they are hoping that the Hong Kong IPO will help to get thing moving again by off setting some of the debt and allowing them to continue forward.

Some analysts believe that this may not be a good time for the Las Vegas Sands to enter the Hong Kong market, because Wynn has dropped just over five percent since entering the same market earlier this year; however analysts also believe that the market will rebound sometime in the near future.

A slow Hong Kong market for gambling companies is believed to be related to the uncertainty surrounding Macau. The decrease may have to do with tightening restrictions in the Macau gambling market.

Since Wynn Resorts entered the Asian market many other US based Gaming companies have begun to follow suit. If the Las Vegas Sands Corp. IPO does what they are hoping and actually brings in the 2.6 billion they are looking for then you can expect to see other companies entering the market with in the coming years.

The Las Vegas Sands Corp. initial public offering is expected to be the largest IPO for any company this year.
