Navarra is a region of Spain that has largely slipped under the radar but for the annual running of the (idiots and) bulls in Pamplona. Navarra in the North of Spain, bordered by France, Castilla, Aragon and the Basque Country is a vital part of the Route of Saint James (Camino de Santiago).
With events around town keeping the secret hidden in plain view, our knowledge of the joys of Navarra food and wine is not likely to grow by leaps and bounds.
Let's see, there are seminars at the Boston Wine Expo. There are the dinners at several area restaurants - one of which I dined at yesterday. Saw no promotional info there on the menu or at the bar.

What are the foods and wines of Navarra?
Possibly the most famous food of Navarra are piquillo peppers. These roasted red peppers are luscious and are often featured in paella, in tapas. They can be stuffed or simply sautéed with a bit of garlic.
You can get an excellent deal on a large tin of piquillo peppers at Las Ventas in the South End. I'm sure you can sample famous cheeses from Navarra as well.
Navarra has recently come into its own in the wine world, producing wonderful rosés.
