Lately, Obama's administration has been taking drastic toll as criticism from GOP has seemingly influenced public opinion. With a 9.4 unemployment rate, 1.4 percentage points over what Obama's administration had promised would be the threshold level of 8.0 percent, much doubt exists whether or not Obama's $787 billion dollar stimulus will have any affect at all. Due to inadequately sustained requisites from Obama's administration, GOP is finding its niche in attacking hard and furiously to try and prove Obama's eccentric economic proposals as unsound.
"This is President Obama's economy, and his administration must provide results and specifics rather than vague descriptions of success that seem to change by the week," said House Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia. "The administration looks dramatically out of touch as they highlight the creation of temporary summer employment in the face of job losses unseen in decades, record unemployment and massive deficits."
Even though President Obama's has received a tattered economy from his predecessor, Mr. W. Bush, GOP seems bent on trying to pinpoint the problems and issues with the economy on President Obama. One emphasis can be questioned, can GOP talk about failure at a time like this? Billions of dollars had been invested into an operation to rejuvenate Obama, and they are criticizing him in his darkest moments. The promotion and efforts could perhaps increase if GOP was to help House and Senate Democrats into seeing, theoretically if Obama had created a breakthrough in economics. Instead, it seems they are trying their hardest to discredit Obama, and call him a socialist; even to call him an enemy of America; destroying America from the bottom up. Honestly, it would seem Obama is trying as hard as he can to make the differences in America to the best of his ability.
"We've done more than ever, faster than ever, more responsibly than ever, to get the gears of the economy moving again," Obama acknowledged, "[but] I'm not satisfied. We've got more work to do."
Conservatives would argue, more work to turn the US into a socialistic country, but Obama's administration does not seem too swayed.
"At the time, our forecast seemed reasonable," said Vice President Joe Biden's top economic adviser, Jared Bernstein, explaining that the White House underestimated the scope of the recession. "Now, looking back, it was clearly too optimistic."
Optimistic is a good word because no one can predict the future 100 percent. To blame the lack of economic forecast such as unemployment rate on Obama is utterly foolish. Everyone might as well begin to blame Obama if it is a cloudy day.
"Now, I know that there's some who, despite all evidence to the contrary, still don't believe in the necessity and promise of this recovery act," President Obama said. "And I would suggest to them that they talk to the companies who, because of this plan, scrapped the idea of laying off employees and, in fact, decided to hire employees. Tell that to the Americans who received that unexpected call saying, 'Come back to work.'"
Clearly, Obama is not to blame, but much rather the people. How can Obama force a person who does not want to work to work? No, Obama can only make conditions as favorable as possible so that people would want to work. Seriously, Obama is stretching a leg and a arm trying to help out the economy, but in the end, it will be up to the people to make a difference, or how conservatives hate saying, "change."
As of now, Obama currently holds a 64 percent approval to a 33 disapproval rating.
