Labor day weekend music celebration: Verizon Wireless American Music Festival

The Verizon Wireless American Music Festival will be flooding the Virginia Beach Oceanfront with music this Labor Day weekend. To celebrate the 16th year of the Oceanfront's American Music Festival, the lineup features a diverse list of local, regional, and national bands.

Each day local bands will be playing along the boardwalk at the parks and stages, and each evening will end with a world-class band on 5th street's, 60-foot wide and 60-foot high stage. To kick off the East Coast's largest outdoor music event, Boyz II Men hit the stage on Friday, September 4th. Saturday night's headlining band Heart, will be performing all of their greatest hits and fan favorites. Ending the summer with a bang, The Black Crowes will close the three day music festival on Sunday night. Other musicians playing at the beach include, Sister Hazel, Little River Band, The Marvelettes, The Platters, Pure Prairie League, The Coasters, Tonic, The Romantics, and more.
