Ghosts and goblins abound, both on and off-stage this time of year. Here's a round-up of some awesome Halloween-themed theatrical events in and around the city.

1-Speakeasy DC is offering Ween in the Woods on Halloween night.  For the third year in the row, join the storytellers in the spookified woods of PG County.  Gather round the campfire in Patuxent River Park to swap ghost stories over warm drinks and s'mores.  In case you were worried about not being frightened, Bill Mayhew, the master of the "jump tale" will be on hand to keep you popping out of your seat.  $5 suggested donation means the price is anything but scary.

2-Hedwig and the Angry Inch, a Spooktacular Variety Show, and a costume contest are all on-hand at the Warehouse Theater Friday and Saturday.   For this limited Halloween engagement, this punk rock, hard rock, glam rock musical will be accompanied by a Halloween "Spooktacular" featuring the Go-Go Dancing Devil Girls, the haunting Box of Blades performed by international renowned magicians Clara and Sal Martini, a $100 costume contest hosted by Ms. Hedwigherself, and music from the SB2.

3-Bitchwood, an improvised Soap Opera devised by those clever folks over at Washington Improv Theatre, (WIT) starts its run Halloween night.  Every week WIT will bring you the story of the Von Sterlingtons, the wealthiest family in Bitchwood, as they struggle to keep the family empire out of the hands of the evil Guillotine Group. Watch the dramatic tale unfold as resident troupe members explore the ups, the downs, and the shocking twists of this tragic family. No reruns, No clip shows, All action! Shows are at Source 1835 14 ST NW.

4-Head on over to Synetic Theatre for their terrifying take on Dracula.  Running through November 15 at the Rosslyn Spectrum, its sure to terrify.  Stop by on Halloween night  for the The Vampire's Ball.
Tickets  are  $75 (incl. $30 tax-deductible donation) for the ball.

5-Fringe Folly livens up Fort Fringe, home to the Cap Fringe Festival.  Fringe Favorite Diamond Dead will perform a midnight show and Sabrina Mandall & Mark Jaster of Happenstance Theater will share Emcee duties.
