
Described by The New York Times as “a classically trained, modernly hip troupe,” Aquila Theatre Company is an illustrious British-American touring company. On November 20, 2009, they will bring their touring production of Shakespeare's As You Like It to George Mason University's Center for the Arts.
One of Shakespeare's classic cross-dressing comedies, As You Like It mixes wrestling, royalty, beguiling shepardresses, charming woodsmen, and a couple of feisty princesses. The Aquila Theatre Company has set their production in a period of revolution in France, and highlights the story of power hungry men exiling their brothers, girls portraying guys and love found in unexpected places.
