
Mark Burnett is the executive producer of the CBS hit "Survivor", as well as "The Apprentice," "Celebrity Apprentice" and "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Since 2001, Burnett has been nominated for 51 Emmy Awards and has won 2, along with 4 People’s Choice Awards.
He will be receiving the 2,387 star next Wednesday. The Mark Burnett star will be located in front of the Supply Sergeant store which is located at 6664 Hollywood Blvd, reasonably chosen because it sells survivor gear.
New series for Burnett in 2009 include, "Bully Beatdown" and "Starmaker" on MTV, "How'd You Get So Rich?" on TV Land, "Expedition Africa" on The History Channel, "Toughest Cowboy" on Spike, and "Wedding Day" on TNT.
Burnett's next major reality TV series, for ABC, is called "Shark Tank", which will position entrepreneurs against each other in hopes of selling their business concepts to backers, which premieres Sunday August 9th.
Mark Burnett was born in London, and is an only child. From 1978-1982 he served with the Parachute Regiment in Northern Ireland and the Falklands War. In 1982, Burnett moved to Los Angeles, U.S., and for the next decade held a variety of jobs, including a nanny in Beverly Hills and selling t-shirts in Venice Beach.
Burnett married actress Roma Downey of "Touched By An Angel" April 18, 2007.
