The heaviest contestant ever on “The Biggest Loser,” Shay Sorrells, was eliminated on Tuesday night along with Daniel with his second attempt on “The Biggest Loser” as he fell below the red line. Shay Sorrells also broke a “Biggest Loser” record in number of pound lost by a female in the shortest amount of time, however never before in the history of “The Biggest Loser” has there been a red line immediate elimination, leaving a contestant with no chance to even plead their case.
Tuesday night’s episode began with a challenge in which “The Biggest Loser” contestant to remove 50 tennis balls from a board and place them into a bucket would gain a one pound advantage at the weight-in. It was neck and neck between Allen and Rebecca; however in the end Allen prevailed and won. Seemingly, the challenge was a bit unfair considering Liz and Amanda were not able to compete for medical reasons leaving them with no hope for the one pound advantage, during the double elimination.
Trainers Bob and Jillian were shocked at the news when speaking with the eight remaining contestants to find out there was not only a red line elimination, but a double elimination. Jillian was immediately concerned for Shay as she spoke privately with Bob who stated he felt she did need additional time on “The Biggest Loser” ranch, but did not want to take time away from the other contestants.
With the dreaded red line and double elimination impending “The Biggest Loser” contestants seemingly had the toughest week ever emotionally and physically, with Daniel and Rebecca even stealing gym equipment and working out with Shay and Amanda while the other contestants slept.
The second challenge was a circus theme in which the contestants had to jump through the hoops of their opposing teammates one hundred times for them to be elimated from receiving immunity. One by one “The Biggest Loser” contestants were elimated, however Shay and Rudy struck a deal before the challenge which turned into some words being exchanged between the two as Rudy, Danny and Shay were the three left competing. Shay felt Rudy went back on his word as he began to jump though Shays hoop in order to eliminate her from immunity. Rudy ultimately won immunity from elimination.
At the weigh-in Rudy was the first up on the scale losing 8 pounds, next up was Shay who lost an astonishing 17 pounds seemingly securing another week on the ranch, however, there were still six contestants left to weight-in. Amanda was next to weight-in and lost 5 pounds, next up was Rebecca who also lost an amazing 10 pounds. Danny who has been losing double digits each week was next to weight-in also losting 17 pounds.
It was now up to Daniel, Liz and Allan to see who was going to be pushed below the red line. Allen was first to weight-in and lost 10 pounds, however with his 1 pound weight advantage he pushed Shay below him by .02%. Liz was next and seemingly the impending red line-double elimination week worked as she lost 12 pounds. Daniel was the last to weight in as it came down to either him or Amanda to fall below the red line, Daniel lost only 5 pounds which placed him below the red line in an immediate elimination.
It then came down to “The Biggest Loser” contestants having to choose between Shay or Amanda, both women plead good cases for themselves, however in the end the contestants chose to send Shay home.
