With each sunset, the cold-weather camping season draws closer and cooler, making it important to have an efficient pot in which to cook hot meals or melt snow for water.
The Primus EtaPower pot is constructed with hard anodized aluminum and comes in four sizes (1, 1.7, 2.1, and 2.9 liters – each sold separately) to deliver a scope of options for meals and the number of campers in your party. Best of all, you can use the EtaPower pot with just about any existing gas or multi-fuel burner on the market.
Last weekend, while camping in Wisconsin, I made a batch of macaroni and cheese for three people with a 1.7 liter pot. The water boiled rapidly thanks to the pot’s head exchanger base that concentrates the flame on the bottom of the pot, allowing very little heat to escape around the sides.
This increases the fuel efficiency of any stove that you use with this pot by 50 percent, making your fuel go further and speeding up the cooking time. And because the flame is so concentrated on the bottom, you can actually lift the pot by the sides as the water inside starts to boil—without burning your hands.
Cooking wise, the EtaPower pot’s titanium non-stick coating prevented the macaroni noodles from sticking to the pot and made cleanup a breeze.
All I did was add some water, two drops of camp suds, let it soak for a few minutes and then wiped out the goo with a paper towel.
I’m waxing repetition here, but camping is still the most affordable option for a vacation. Why not add an EtaPower pot and save even more money by cooking a hot meal at camp? If Emeril went camping, he'd use an EtaPower pot.
