Celebrity Equinox: You won't believe your eyes
Celebrity Cruises would like you to know one thing: The grass is definitely greener on its newest megaliner, the Equinox.
In fact, it's the only cruise ship in the world with 22,927 square feet of real grass covering its uppermost deck.
Feel like practicing your putting? Want to play bocce? Just in the mood to feel the grass between your toes? Then Equinox's half-acre Lawn Club was made for adventurers like you.
The Lawn Club is just one jewel among many on the Equinox, a $750 million ship that Celebrity entered into service this summer.
Capable of hosting 2,850 guests, the Equinox boasts 1,426 staterooms – 85 percent of which have verandas. Cruisers familiar with the typically tight quarters on any ship will be thrilled to know that the cabins on the Equinox are 15 percent larger than other Celebrity ships.
What else will you find on the Equinox to make you say “ahhhhh”? According to Celebrity:
- A crew of more than 1,200.
- 130 AquaClass staterooms designed to offer a soothing, spa-focused ambiance. AquaClass is the only stateroom category in Celebrity’s fleet that offers no third and fourth guest berthing, making the area quieter and more exclusive for guests wishing to relax in an utterly serene environment.
- The two-story luxury AquaSpa by Elemis. AquaSpa’s Persian Garden features an aromatherapy steam room, featuring heated ceramic loungers, and an opulent treatment called the 24-Karat Gold Facial that actually utilizes a pure 24-karat gold leaf mask. Also available: Botox treatments and teeth whitening.
- All staterooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs.
- Wireless Internet access throughout the ship.
- A full-service fitness center that includes personal training services.
- A glassblowing show and studio.
- 10 dining venues.
- 18 retail shops.
- A variety of entertainment options, including three unique shows: “Limelight – The Dream of Broadway,” a Broadway-themed show. “Remix,” a song-and-dance spectacular. And “Equinox – The Show,” a European circus-style extravaganza.
And keep in mind those are merely the highlights. If I'm able to get onboard, I'll be back with details and a full review of the Equinox.
