Gregg Allman, Allman Brothers Band co-founder and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is heading out on the road for his first solo dates of the year and will be coming to San Fran on July 21 and 22 at The Independent.
The iconic singer, songwriter, keyboardist and guitarist is taking a break from the 40th Anniversary celebratory year-long US tour with the legendary Allman Brothers Band to perform this upcoming run of dates with his solo band featuring Bruce Katz (keyboard), Jerry Jemmott (bass), Steve Potts (drums), Scott Sharrard (guitar), Jay Collins (sax) and Floyd Miles (percussion).
The bluesy, hard rock Allman Brothers Band was formed in 1969 by Gregg and his brother Duane. In 1971, Rolling Stone magazine hailed them as the "best damn rock n'roll band of the past five years".
