The Stones

“This album is a hit” – Vogue

“They are going to be huge” – Daily Telegraph

“Fans of the pair’s first three EPs will absolutely love (the new album)” – Rolling Stone

Too twisted for indie and too idiosyncratic for the mainstream, they are both wilfully arty and artlessly unpretentious” – The Evening Standard

Angus and Julia Stone, a brother/sister duo from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia are finally heading Bay-Side. On Thursday November 20, the folky pair will make an appearance at Hotel Utah to demonstrate their haunting, fractured, blues-inspired acoustics.

After massive Australian success, the band picked up and moved from its Australian home to London where their EPs -- “Heart Full Of Wine” and “Chocolates & Cigarettes”—were released. Yet success in the US seems imminent.

When actress Natalie Portman recently selected the band’s song “The Beast to appear on her hand-picked compilation, Big Change: Songs For Finca, and Giorgio Armani used the song "Paper Aeroplane" for his 2008-09 winter collection runway, it’s safe to say that the Stones are here to stay.

Check them out at Hotel Utah. Tickets are just $8 from Ticketweb.
