Final Fantasy XIII's Styria
Not much information has been shared on the gameplay front of Final Fantasy XIII. We know how the battle system works and general idea of most of the gameplay aspects. However, we still don’t know how the summons will work; at least not entirely.

During E3, Square Enix showed off the premise of riding on your summon. During the E3 2009 trailer of Final Fantasy XIII, you see Snow call forth the Shiva sisters. Each one has their own name. After summoning Styria and Nix, you have two options: you can fight alongside them like a normal summon would from previous entries, or you can merge them together and form a motorcycle and ride them. During this riding sequence, you have a new move set made available to you. However, it also appears that this will be limited to a certain amount of time.

Unfortunately, Square Enix didn’t share enough information about the game once again. Will the other summons also be able to transform? Or it this strictly tied to the Shiva sisters? The answer will soon be known, though. Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan this winter and then to the rest of the world next spring.
