2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee winner.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee aired on ABC, 5/28/2009.  The Scripps National Spelling Bee is held each year in Washington, DC and this year there were 293 spelling youths, the youngest speller at nine years of age, the oldest fifteen. Each youngster competing from all around the world for the title of "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champ", as well competing for over $41,000 in cash and prizes.

I am not going to break down the entire ABC broadcast of the 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee, what I am going to do, is start with the final four finalists and give a word for word spelling list and the outcome. Leading up to the last speller standing, as "The 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion".

1. Kyle Mou, 13. His "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" word was, schizaffrin. He spelled incorrectly.

2. Aishwarya Pastapur, 13. Her "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" word was, wisent. She spelled correctly.

3. Kavya Shivashankar, 13. Her "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" word was, diacoele. She spelled correctly.

4. Tim Ruiter, 12. His "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" word was, reredos. He spelled correctly.

Kyle Mou is out of the Bee. On to the next round, which includes 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee, championship words.

1. Aishwarya Pastapur. Her "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" championship word was, antonomasia. She spelled correctly.

3. Tim Ruiter. His "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" championship word was, oriflamme. He spelled correctly.

At this point, I would like to say that Aishwarya and Kavya are best friends, competing against each other for the national spelling bee championship. The two have been best friends since they were toddlers. Now, on to the next round.

1. Aishwarya Pastapur. Her "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" championship word was, guayabera. She spelled correctly.

Kavya Shivashankar will be given one more "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" championship word, if she should misspell this word, the other two national spelling bee competitors will still be in the 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee competition.

Kavya's "2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee" championship word was, laodicean. She spelled correctly! We have a new 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion!
