ABC's Dancing with the Stars competitors had a grueling week in store for them. Two full dance routines had to be choreographed, learned and then performed. To make matters even more nerve wracking, the flu is steadily spreading from one Dancing with the Stars performer, to another. Last week Donny Osmond, this week, Karina Smirnoff and Aaron Carter.
Traditional Ballroom dance would be the first performance that the Dancing with the Stars competitors would be judged upon, followed by a Latin dance, with the Latin dance focusing on dancing through the era's. Each couple would perform a Latin dance with a 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's or futuristic flair. This style of competition is a first for ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
The two scores that the Dancing with the Stars performers earned from the judges for each dance would be combined for an overall score of a possible 60 points. But remember, you, the viewer, have the power to keep your favorite star dancing next week in the Dancing with the Stars semi-finals. All it takes is your vote.
The highlight of this evenings Dancing with the Stars performance show had to be Mya and pro partner Dmitry Chaplan dancing their 70's Samba. This is the first time that a perfect score of 30 has been awarded in season nine of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Len Goodman, who has been so critical with his critique for Mya stated, "Mya, you are absolutely on fire...you produced two dances of the best standards."
Aaron Carter had to have experienced the lowest moment of the night. Aaron, as well as his professional partner Karina Smirnoff were both sick with the flu. Could this have been the reason that their Fox Trot received such low scores from the Dancing with the Stars judges? Even though Aaron's professional partner was sick, that would not stop her from dancing with Aaron. Karina commented that, "Aaron was dancing with no one, but me."
