Trade Paperback / Vertigo

Sky Dog Comics, a publisher from the DC Metro area, gained multiple nominations for Oct.’s 2009 Harvey Awards. Sky Dog’s Buzzboy: Sidekicks Rule is nominated for Best Writer, Best Cartoonist, Best Inker, Best Letterer, Best Cover Artist and the Special Award for Humor.

 Acclaimed comics writer Brian Michael Bendis recommended Ed Brubaker’s Scene of the Crime as a must read. Bendis endorsed the four-issue story arc on Twitter this past week. Scene of the Crime: A Little Piece of Goodnight, originally published in 1999, is currently available in trade paperback.
 
2009’s Small Press Expo will be held Sept. 26 and 27 in Bethesda, Maryland. SPX, started in 1994, hosts exhibitions from creators and publishers of independent comics. The Ignatz Awards, which recognizes exceptional achievements of small press comics and cartooning, will also be hosted at the SPX.
