The other day I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Tres Generaciones Tequila tasting at Victor Tango’s at 3001 N. Henderson. Apon entering, I immediately became a fan of this place.
As a cocktail shaker collector I could not help but notice their shaker collection and what seemed to be a great bar.
Well as the story goes we consumed a little tequila (a little? Yeah Right), ate some wonderful food, and had a couple specialty cocktails that the Tres Generaciones mixologist had invented. They are pictured below right. ( I will talk more about those in a later post) That is when it became obvious that there was something different about Tango’s. Extremely fresh ingredients, carefully measured portions, and then blended to perfection. It is very pleasant and refreshing to find such an establishment in Dallas.
As you can see in some of the pictures the ingredients are laid out right at hand for their mixologist. The selecti
on of liquor is probably second to none. They even have their own in-house training for the mixology staff to assure the finest in quality of their cocktails. One thing to note, do not get in a hurry. Hand crafting their cocktails is not a fast process, but the slight wait is more than worth it.
Also when it comes to the food, all I can say is Wow! As with the cocktails fresh ingredients, carefully prepared, and served by a wonderful wait staff.
I had the Ahi Tuna Nachos, Mango-Avocado Shrimp with Orange-Chili Tortilla Chips, and JB’s Tempura Green Beans with Wasabi Aioli. The Green beans are served in hand sculpted cones. That was way cool. I also tried all of the deserts. .jpg)
In the picture, above right, is Tango's version of the Moscow Mule. It is made slightly differently than the original, but it was wonderful. Here is a link to the story of the Moscow mule and the original recipe. The Moscow Mule - Copper clad Vodka history On the left is Tango's Sazarac. I was very impressed to get a good Sazarac outside of New Orleans.

So in conclusion, Just Go. You won't be dissapointed. Cheers
