Planning a first date with someone and not certain where to go?  Luckily, Sacramento runs rampant with dining establishments and night time entertainment. For your convenience, I have listed a few of them.   Have a wonderful time on your date!

Zelda's Original Gourmet Pizza

1415 21ST St
Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 447-1400

Monday - Thursday 11:30am - 10pm
Friday 11:30am - 11pm
Saturday 11:30am - 11pm
Friday 5pm - 9pm

Zelda's has been a Sacramento icon for over 20 years. It's the perfect place to go on a date. The atmosphere is very laid back, the food is great and very reasonably priced. It has a full-service bar and the wait staff is lively. It's usually slammin' on  weekends so it's best to call ahead with your order - that way they'll have it ready to eat when you arrive. By the way, Zelda's accepts only cash and debit cards, but with their economy-friendly prices you may actually have enough for dinner and drinks in your wallet without hitting the ATM!

 The Sacramento Zoo

3930 West Land Park Drive
Sacramento Ca 95822
(916) 808-5888

9 am to 4 pm
Admission $6.50 - $9.50
Free On-Street Parking

How can either of you worry over the impression you're making on the other when you're walking around the zoo, and the monkeys are pointing and laughing at you? A great place for an early afternoon date, the Sacramento Zoo is conveniently located near downtown.  Prices run a little under $10 per person, and there is a snack bar located within the zoo at Funderland but it's a bit pricey - like most snack bars. The Sacramento Zoo also sports a golf course for those of you who are into tea time, but I'd call or check out their website to get the details on that one.  And their website has a list of the Sacramento eateries situated close by - in case the snack bar is not an option.

Laugh's Unlimited

1207 Front Street
Sacramento CA 95814

Show times: Sun 8 pm
Wed 8 pm
Fri & Sat 8 pm and 1030

The more laughter on a date, the better - I'll even offer to be the butt of the joke.  One of the greatest places to laugh on a date is Laugh's Unlimited in Old Sacramento. You may have to plan a bit ahead for this one.  It's always a good idea to  check out their website first, then call for tickets and prices at least a few days in advance of  your plans.  There's a 2 drink minimum - and two drinks will cost you about $17.00 if you order mixed. Be prepared to spend a little more on this date as you will probably want to have dinner there as well.  The menu is also located on the website, along with upcoming show information. If you and your date love stand-up comedy  and plan to return, be sure to check out the sweet membership deals they've got going - also listed on the website.

Crawdad's River Cantina

1375 Garden Hwy
Sacramento, CA 95833
(916) 929-2268

This restaurant/bar has a New Orleans feel and is aptly named.  Located off Garden Hwy on the river, it's a definite thumbs-up for a first date. The food is mainly Louisiana creole, but the menu offers other types of food as well. They have live music and dancing on weekends.  Their prices for food and drink, excluding cover charge, run about average for nowadays.  But for those of you on a really tight budget who don't mind a late afternoon date during the week, Crawdad's has a very reasonably priced happy hour (from 3 -6), which should make your wallets very happy.    Call or check website for hours of operation.

Evangeline

113 K Street
Old Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 443-2181

Open every day - 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (except in extenuating circumstances)

This is my absolute favorite place in the whole world to go to for checking out the bizarre and wonderful. And unless you had already planned to spend your first date buying a ceramic middle finger extension toilet paper holder, this place won't be costing you any money.  It's absolutely enlightening to wander through the store in sheer amazement, visually absorbing all the left-field items you never knew existed before but won't ever forget,  now that you've seen them.  And since Evangeline is located in Old Sacramento, there are a few local eateries just within walking distance.

These are just a few good "first date" places to visit in Sacramento. Remember to check out the websites for information updates and have fun!
