UPDATED: Neighborhood Inaugural Balls attended by Examiners Full coverage of Inauguration Day events.
The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball on January 20 is being billed as the first-ever presidential gala of its kind, a celebration to include all Americans. Additionally, Examiners will also participate in the event and provide insight about their experience at the various interactive events nationwide.
In the past, Inaugural celebrations have been attended by an exclusive circle of guests and donors, but President-elect Barack Obama hopes to bring together a wider circle of people and share in the moment through the use of modern means of communication and technologies.
The Presidential Inaugural Committee is offering free or affordable tickets to "everyday Americans" while offering interactive technology from within the walls of the D.C. Convention Center to link together neighborhoods from across the country. Examiners will also participate by attending associated events and addressing their respective regional interests through the Web.
The committee plans to use Web-savvy methods like text messaging and Web casting to bring together communities across America. Additionally, ABC will broadcast the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball on national television to compliment an event being billed as the "first ever" of its kind. On January 20th, Examiner.com will bring together the reflections of its local voices to add more value to goings-on nationwide.
More details on the Neighborhood Ball and Examiner.com coverage will be available in the coming days.
