Hello Again! Sorry for my absense but I had my son visiting from Ohio. James (my son) is 18 and has a sweetheart of a girlfriend named Patty. They were talking with me about their plans for the future. I asked them how their individual credit scores were. Neither of them had a clue as to where to go and get information about their scores. So....this leads me to my article for this fine end to the day.
Why not check your credit standing? It may seem great but have you looked at it recently? Do you know if you have old or useless information that is cluttering up your credit? Check it out! You may be surprised!
I know that I was very surprised. Every year we are allowed one free report from any of the top credit agencies; Experian, TransUnion, or Equifax. I took advantage of this fact and was glad when I did. Following the advice of the reporting agency I was able to clean up my credit history. I had one account in which I had a debt of over $700.00. I had argued and been harrassed by this creditor for years (3) and finally took my arguement to an authority; Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. They were key in fighting my case and they were able to be the mediator with knowledge of creditor collection laws. My case was eventually erased from my credit! So, no matter how bad it may seem there is always light at the end of the tunnel! Oh by the way...
We DO NEED credit, to survive today. But, it doesn't have to be stinking! If we stay on it and keep it clean, it will smell like a rose!
