Who can resist the nostalgia of a lollipop? Maybe dentists. They have to set a good example for their patients. But really, lollipops are just plain fun, and McJak makes some that are caffeinated and flavored with coffee. Sweet! (Sorry about the pun.)
Java Pops come in five flavors: Cappuccino, Chocolate Almond, Chocolate Raspberry, French Vanilla, and Irish Cream, and the folks at the Barry Patch were kind enough to send me a couple samples. Unfortunately, the French Vanilla was only marginal. I didn’t detect much vanilla or “natural coffee flavor”. The Irish Cream was much better. Again, the coffee taste was light, but the Irish Cream was tasty enough to make up for it.
Each Java Pop contains 60 milligrams of caffeine. (For comparison, a can of Pepsi has 38.) They run about 90 cents a piece at the Barry Patch. Think Geek sells packs of ten (2 of each flavor) for ten bucks. So if you're looking for a sugary caffeine buzz that won't spill, try these. If you want a robust coffee flavor, Java Pops are not for you.
