So you've hit up every bar in your neighborhood, tested out all the locally renowned joints, and even checked out a few hidden locales, and now you've run the proverbial (and possibly, literal) tap dry. You're tired of the old and familiar, or simply have no interest in what bars are already available to you, so where do you go from here? Luckily, one of the perks of living in a city like Los Angeles is that there are always something new popping up, on nearly a daily basis. In just the past six months, a number of high profile bars have opened, with even more scheduled to appear in the very near future. Here's just a small sampling of what's new (or about to be new) around town.
Schmidt’s Bauhaus - A joint restaurant and biergarten, Schmidt’s Brauhaus, promises to be a one-of-a-kind LA bar experience. Schedule to open late this fall, Schmidt’s has no released photos, though the concept design drawings available on it’s website look promising. This loft-like space near downtown plans to contain a streamlined and modern take on the classic German beer hall.
Bigfoot West- A second incarnation of this Los Feliz staple has recently cropped up in Culver City. Offering the same theme and drink offerings at the first LA location, Bigfoot Lodge West does boasts a bigger, island bar, a deck, and a cozy log cabin feel.
Big Wangs No Ho- Another LA bar expanding it’s territory is Big Wangs, likely already a familiar spot to any sports and wings fans in the greater Los Angeles area. Though it’s bigger, more modern, and airier than the original, Big Wangs No Ho still attracts the same loud, rowdy sports crowds.
Eagle Rock Brewery- Following the revitalizing of Downtown LA trend (or, as I call it, the New York-ing of Downtown), another sleek, upscale bar specializing in homemade microbrews is primed to open sometime late this fall or early 2010. Not just a bar and restaurant, the Eagle Rock Brewery promises a tasting room for devoted beer connoisseurs.
