AC/DC is back in Buffalo - for those about rock HSBC Arena tonight. The legendary rockers returned to the road this week after taking a break while vocalist Brian Johnson recovered from an unspecified medical procedure. AC/DC's global Black Ice tour, which canceled/postponed six dates earlier this month, resumed in Washington, D.C on Friday night, making Buffalo the second stop on the fall leg of the tour.
After three and a half decades of straight up rock 'n' roll, anything goes for AC/DC. The band is in the middle of an epic global tour, which kicked off a year ago and is expected to be completed early next year. The Black Ice tour is in support of their latest album of the same name. AC/DC's first album in eight years, Black Ice, was released last year and sold an impressive 800,000 copies in it's first week. The album has went on to sell more than 2 million copies in the U.S. alone.
AC/DC have released fifteen full-length albums, 4 Australia only albums, 13 video collections of concerts and music videos, and 7 box sets. They remain one of the only bands with a large discography of singles to not release any greatest hits packages. Since 1973, AC/DC have sold over 200 million albums world wide fueled by tracks like T.N.T, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Highway To Hell, You Shook Me All Night Long, Back in Black, Hells Bells, and For Those About To Rock. AC/DC's most recognizable album, Black in Black, sold 49 million copies worldwide, making it the second best selling album worldwide.
On November 10, Columbia Records and Albert Productions will release Backtracks, the ultimate AC/DC collector's experience, available in two fan-friendly boxed sets. The Deluxe Collector's Limited Edition features three CDs of live & studio rarities, two DVDs, a vinyl LP of studio collectibles, a coffee table book, authentic memorabilia, and fine art lithographs. All that and more will be boxed in an AC/DC working guitar amplifier and will be available exclusively through AC/DC's website.
Tonight's concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $92 at the HSBC Arena box office, Tickets.com and by calling 1 (888) -223-6000. Opening the show is The Answer.
