Old jeans are the best new jeans

For fashion-conscious teens, finding some affordable new threads for late summer and back to school isn't as hard as one might think.  This weekend Plato's Closet www.platoscloset.com/locations_results.html is having their Last Chance Clearance Blast at all Colorado locations (Littleton, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs).  Kids can find the latest designer labels at a fraction of the usual price by buying clothes that are gently-used, but often like new.  They have a big selection of shoes and accessories as well and will pay cash for denim and other popular items.

Buffalo Exchange is another hot spot for teen and twenty/ thirty-something clothing.  www.buffaloexchange.com/locations.php Located at 230 E 13th Ave, clothing and accessories are bought, sold and traded directly with store customers.  By reusing and recycling clothing, Buffalo Exchange helps protect the environment while offering low prices on great clothing and donates to local nonprofit agencies in the community through its Tokens for Bags program which has generated close to $320,000 and saved 6.4 million bags since 1994. Kerstin Block co-founder of Buffalo Exchange,  was just named an 2009 Regional Entrepreneur of the Year.

For sports fans, Play it Again Sports www.playitagainsports.com/locations.aspx   is a great resource for sporting equipment and a place to recycle outgrown skates, bikes, etc.  Check them out for summer birthdays and back-to-school sporting needs.  You'll find quality new and used gear for a range of activities including golf, fitness, baseball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, snow sports, water sports and more.  They have trade-in and trade-up programs as well.

Encourage your kids to save money while stocking up  on summer clothes, back-to-school jeans, and sporting needs.
