Kate has deemed this appropriate discipline

Already dubbed "the spank heard around the world," the report of Kate Gosselin spanking daughter Leah has created a firestorm on the internet today.

Some, including myself, pointed out that the paparazzi photos didn't show Kate actually striking her child, and we know how kids can react and freak out at just the hint of a punishment, so there was some ambiguity whether Kate really spanked her daughter or not.

Well apparently not any more. Kate Gosselin spoke to Life & Style Weekly and not only didn't deny the spanking, but defended it:

"Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first," Gosselin told [the magazine]. "I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation."

Well, you have to at least hand it to Kate for sticking up for her parenting choices. We may get to see if a family court judge agrees.
