On Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 2:00pm-6:00pm, Georgia Mocha Moms will host the third annual Education Forum at DeKalb Technical College. The Georgia chapters of Mocha Moms, Inc. will provide this FREE forum to educate, strengthen and empower parents by arming them with information to foster their children's passion for learning and thrive inside the classroom.
Whether you have a newborn or a child preparing for college, parenting experts, community leaders, education specialists, and other notable speakers at the forum will have critical information, parenting strategies and educational options for you. Though this is geared toward parents of color, ALL Georgia parents are invited.
Some of the seminars will be on unconditional parenting, foreign language education, understanding independent schools, homeschooling, raising fiscally responsible kids, and nurturing healthy racial identity.
Mocha Moms Inc is a support organization designed for stay-at-home moms of color. They total nearly 3,000 mothers nationally and over 500 mothers statewide, and encourage every parent to tap into their power, passion and potential to make headway in closing the gap in minority achievement.
Know before you go: Registration in advance is strongly encouraged, particularly to attend the seminar topics of interest to you! Register now online or at the door. The forum will be held at the Conference Center at Dekalb Technical College, one mile outside I-285 off Memorial Drive, exit 41. Parking is FREE. Childcare will not be available at this event so parents are encouraged to make other childcare arrangements. This event is open to the entire community.
