Elizabeth Browning - 1806 to 1861, wife our renowned English poet Robert Browning…

Yea, once Immanuel’s orphaned cry His universe hath shaken.
It went up single, echoless, “My God, I am forsaken!”
It went up from the Holy’s lips amid His lost creation…
…that, of the lost, no son, no daughter, should use those words of desolation.

John records for us these words in the fifth chapter of his gospel, verse 24 (Holman).

“I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.”

Have you passed…so that you may not use the words of desolation Jesus spoke on our behalf, only believe and live forever.

Pastor Fred
