The W finally makes its debut in South Florida. The grand opening bash invited more than 800 guests to a grade-A show with water-friendly acrobatics, DJ Sky Nellor and endless open bar Thursday, June 4. Showcasing the arrival of the property's high-end staples, the introduction of Whiskey Blue, Steak 954 and Bliss were anything but hush.

To kick off the “Underwater Wonderment” gala, the royal purple carpet was rolled out at the entrance to greet guests, movers and shakers, fashionistas and celebs eager to get the first glimpse of the new landmark. Miss Florida USA, Anastagia Pierre arrived first, with glistening in a refreshing yellow gown, complete with sparkling sash. She walked the carpet and stopped to smile for Ocean Drive’s cameras before strutting inside with a few close girlfriends in tow.

Soon after, power couple Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber charmed cameras, excited to celebrate Gerber’s latest venture, the property’s luxurious nightlife escape, Whiskey Blue. Before long, twenty-something Gossip Girl co-stars and real-life lovers Blake Lively and Penn Badgley made their separate ways down the carpet. Demonstrating his chivalrous nature, Badgley waited as his beau blew kisses to the media in her stunning, fitted white rouched ensemble.

Instead of walking the carpet to start their night, sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian detoured for dinner at Steak 954. The duo, who is currently residing in Miami Beach, filmed segments for a spinoff of their E! hit Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

TGI summer, because the W Fort Lauderdale is already raking in beautiful people by the bunches.
