Venus, the feminine planet of love, and Mars, the male planet of sexuality (as well as assertion, aggression and war), are dancing with each other these days. Venus went retrograde (her apparent motion from the Earth is backwards) on March 6, backing away from Mars. This is a time when she was encouraging reassessment of relationships – pulling back to see what you want and what works for you. Did you notice that in your life?
On April 17, Venus reversed her direction and went direct. The re-evaluation is over, and now she’s moving with Mars. On April 21, they joined with each other in dreamy Pisces. They are now moving together though fiery Aries, close to each other but not quite touching. Finally, they will conjunct again in sensual Taurus, on June 21.
Aren’t they acting like we do? Backing away, pulling close, just like a courtship dance. When Venus and Mars combine, sparks can fly. Their first union in Pisces created a time when love was soft and mystical. The Aries flirtation builds the heat, and their second union in Taurus is earthy and physical. Sounds like all flavors of romance are possible!
