Beginners Yoga session at Inspire Yoga (Prairie Village): This five-week session for complete beginners teaches fundamentals of alignment and breathing plus basic stretches, balancing poses, and relaxation techniques. Mondays, June 1-29, 5:15-6:15, or Thursdays, June 4-July 2, 6:30-7:45. Cost: $65 for five-week session.

Restorative Workshop at Kansas Siddhi Yoga: Sunday, May 31 (downtown) or Sunday, June 7 (Blue Springs), 6:30 pm. For adults of all ages and fitness levels. No previous yoga experience required. Make time for yourself and begin the new month feeling replenished and restored! Pre-registration is not required. Please arrive by 6:20 pm.

Yoga teacher training at Maya Yoga (Crossroads district), June 1-7. A week-long yoga immersion course. Learn to teach Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga. Training will consist of Sanskrit terminology, yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation, chanting, chakras, nutrition, and daily journaling and group sharing. 40 hours. Cost: $700.

Hip Openers Workshop at Inspire Yoga (Prairie Village): Saturday, June 6. 1:00-3:00 pm. Designed for students of all levels. Explore principles of proper alignment that contribute to improved circulation and flow of the life force, or prana. Take your practice to a new level! Cost: $25 for one session or $108 for the entire summer workshop series.

Bikram Yoga Workshop with Rajashree Choudhury (wife of Bikram Choudhury, founder of Bikram Yoga), at Kansas City Bikram Yoga (midtown): Saturday, June 20. This full-day workshop includes a lecture on yoga principles, yoga class, a complementary catered lunch from Jerusalem Café, posture clinic, and meditation work. Space is limited. Cost: $150.
