Global Connections...Are we all linked in some way?

Is this the Truth?
Since the beginning of time, we have always tried to find some link that weaves us all together. It brings us comfort, in difficult situations, to believe that we have a support group....that we are not alone. Through out this series of articles, we have tried to show that you have control over what happens in your life...that you are both the creator and the one that experiences that creation. It's a wild concept to say the least! The next logical step from there, is to ask if we have some sort of collective control over the larger planetary events. Do we all somehow collectively attract things like earthquakes, weather events, and even big social changes...or is it all just random luck of the draw? These are difficult questions for sure!
Believe it or not, there is some scientific research going on that is trying to answer these questions. One of the most respected is The Global Consciousness Project . While this research is not funded by any particular university, it is being conducted by dozens of college professors from all over the world...including some from Princeton University here in the United States. The basic concept is to monitor the output from random data generators stationed at different points all over the globe. They call these things "eggs" , and there are presently about 75 of them in operation. The study claims that "spikes" in the data field have been recorded BEFORE major events on the the planet. For example, there were big spikes before the 9/11 attacks and the Tsunami in 2004. They claim that this shows that all of us, on some level, picked up on these things right before they took place and then sent some sort of measurable "effect" into the collective consciousness. In other words, it shows that we are all connected on some level. They make no claims as to what the connection is, or where that connection is located.
This type of research does not show that we actually "created" these events, but only that we might have somehow picked up on it's probable manifestation. Now, if we all indeed have this ethereal connection somehow, is it too much of a stretch to say that we could consciously CREATE an event together? Wouldn't it be cool to try and get a large group of people to focus their attention on producing something wonderful for the planet? I say it's possible! If you believe that you can heal yourselves and create personal experiences, just think of what we could do together. So, in the middle of all the chaos that's been taking place in the world, let's be a beacon of light. Maybe we all don't need to think any specific thoughts, but just take a moment to send our light to the globe...what ever your personal definition of what "light" may be. :)
