Bloodthirsty and adorable...

F&H & F.H.F.H – What does this mean? Read on to find out...

In this modern age of corporate domination – when even the most independent of artists are all-too willing to stab each other in the back to achieve 'mainstream' success – it is extraordinarily refreshing to witness two local groups engaged in a friendly artistic collaboration.  To this effect, Fools & Horses – whose latest album, 'I Am The Ghost,' was recently reviewed here – have begun to work with Robert Thayer of Thayer Entertainment, a production company specializing in commercials, corporate films, independent films, and music videos.

This partnership will surely provide Fools & Horses with considerable exposure in the mediums of film and video, which these days is a necessary step for any band trying to make it to the next level in the music industry.  And accordingly, Thayer Entertainment will be able to boast a soundtrack full of the catchy, well-produced tunes that can help to make or break any independent film, for their upcoming release, "Furry Hamsters From Hell."  The film's soundtrack will also feature songs by Alicen Holden and Mary Mulroney

The collaboration with Fools & Horses was actually initiated by Thayer, who contacted the group after being struck by their performance at Summerfest in Caroline County earlier this year.  In an interview, Thayer commented about the group, saying "I think Fools & Horses have their heads screwed on right and have the drive and talent required to go as far as they want to in the music industry."  Robert Thayer has been making films professionally for 20 years now, with an undergraduate degree in Film from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an MFA in Motion Pictures and Television from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

While plans have been made for Thayer to produce three more music videos for Fools & Horses before the end of the year, the video for their song "Around the Lake" (from the album "Pop Filter") is already available to view online at www.furryhamsters.com.  The project is tied to the independent film by Thayer, "Furry Hamsters From Hell," which is slated to premier December 17th of this year at The Avalon Theater in Easton, MD.  There are talks of a possible post-premier performance by F&H at a coffee house in Easton, but nothing is official as of yet.  Thayer describes his movie as "a Benny Hill/Monty Python-type film made on a shoestring budget,"  and interested parties should check out the film's preview, also accessible at furryhamsters.com.

If the Fools & Horses music video is any indicator, then the movie will definitely be worth seeing, if only for the adorable hamster puppets involved.  The band's video has great production value, and showcases the Fools & Horses performing their song outdoors with occasional hamster accompaniments/attacks.  Tickets for the premier will go on sale November 10th for $15, but an additional $10 will get you inside early to mingle with the bands, cast, and crew affiliated with the production.
