A Pure Country Gift Stars George Strait, Katrina Elam, Travis Fimmel, and J.D. Parker

The holiday movie A Pure Country Gift is being filmed in and around Nashville this week, bringing stars like country music superstar George Strait, Nashville country music artist  Katrina Elam, and actors Travis Fimmel, ("The Beast," "Tarzan") and J.D. Parker (Michael W. Smith's The Second Chance) to downtown Nashville as well as other parts of Middle Tennessee. 

A Pure Country Gift Upcoming Holiday Movie

A Pure Country Gift is the newest movie project from director Christopher Cain who previously directed Pure Country, The Next Karate Kid and Young Guns. Extras were told A Pure Country Gift will either air on CMT during the holiday season or in theaters in 2010, and that it involves angels, blessings, and a spiritual message about being good stewards of our gifts and talents.

A Pure Country Gift - The Talk Show Scene

I had the opportunity to spend 12 hours at a Nashville studio today with about 40 other extras as well as Katrina Elam, Travis Fimmel and J.D. Parker filming the "talk show" scene for the movie. Additional scenes I heard other extras talking about included a rodeo scene shot in Watertown, a scene at a local diner, and a hospital scene filmed at a rehab center in Nashville. On Wednesday they are filing at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. A Pure Country Gift really does have Nashville written all over it!

Country-Western Fans Invited to A Pure Country Gift Taping at Municipal Auditorium

Although the paid extras were hired some time ago, you can still be a volunteer extra at a concert taping for A Pure Country Gift on Wednesday, November 11 at the Municipal Auditorium from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Country music fans are invited to come out wearing their country-Western finest and participate as volunteer audience members. The casting directors are hoping to have about 3,000 volunteers on hand and are serving free BBQ lunch from the Loveless Cafe to anyone who shows up for the taping. All volunteer extras will be entered into drawings to win prizes such as gift certificates, gift baskets, autographed celebrity memorabilia and a Vespa Scooter as well as a walk-on extra role in a scene with George Strait (must be present to win). Free parking and shuttles will be available at LP Field in Lot R (off of Shelby Street).

Come be a part of Nashville movie history on Veterans Day by appearing as a volunteer extra in a scene with George Strait, Katrina Elam and J.D. Parker in "A Pure Country Gift."
