The metal band Thin Lizzy has been through scrape after scrape this touring season, with the ending result being a cancellation of all shows they partnered up to do with legends AC/DC.
Shortly after announcing their European tour dates with AC/DC, Thin Lizzy drummer Tommy Aldridge was involved in an accident where he broke his collarbone. His prolonged recovery made it diffcult for Thin Lizzy to get back on track. Then only a mere couple months later Thin Lizzy's guitarist and vocalist John Syke's left the band to work on different projects.
On the Thin Lizzy Web site the lead vocalist, Scott Gorham, stated that it has been a very tough time for them and that they thank everyone who has ever supported them. He added that in the future, Thin Lizzy will be up and running again at full force once inuries are healed and projects finished.
Thin Lizzy has been around since the late 1960's, based out of Ireland as a hard rock band. They have been through several band members, but originated with singer Phil Lynott, who was one of the first black singers (his father was Afro-Brazilian, his mother was Irish) to break into heavy metal and hard rock music successfully.
