Donned as the 'New World' by Europeans, the Americas have a rich cultural history to show for the past three milleniums. Until December 31st, the Orlando Museum of Art [OMA] has been introducing to visitors several pre-Columbian cultures through their art in its Aztec to Zapotec exhibition.
This educational experience is particularly interesting to those who are considering an education and occupation in the social sciences, history, education, or humanities, as well as in the arts.
The exhibition, which features over 180 pieces all of which were made prior to the arrival of Columbus in 1492, represent a significant portion of the history of this continent.
Materials used include gold, silver, shell, wood, ceramic and jade. Items representing the North, Central and South American regions offer a rare glimpse, through time, of the 'new' continent.

On the first Wednesday of each month, Jan Clanton is scheduled to offer a gallery talk at 1:30 pm and lasting approximately 30 minutes. Cost: $8 for non-members of OMA.
