This week has been Bike-to-Work week in Chicago and many of its suburbs, including Elgin.  I was involved in the planning of Elgin's events, and it's been fun! So far there have been two organized bike rides, free coffee in the morning at Metra stations, a bike maintenance seminar, and a free showing of Breaking Away.

Have you missed out?  Fear not!  There are two days left in the week, and riding your bike to work those two days counts!  If you do ride, be sure to come relax with us on Friday at noon.

Any & all bicylists (or wannabe bicyclists) are welcome to come hang out and eat some good (& free!) grub.  Here's the info:

  • When: Friday, June 19, 2009 at 12 noon
  • Where: Walton Island, downtown Elgin (the piece of land in the middle of the river with a gazebo on it--near Hemmens Auditorium)
  • What: A FREE boxed lunch provided by Al's Creamery
  • RSVP: Click here

Hope to see you there!
