The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) has effectively banned the sale of youth off-highway vehicles (OHVs) as of Feb. 10, 2009. Members of the Motorcycle Industry Council need your help now! Please watch these videos to educate yourself about this issue – then take action now!

Paul Vitrano discusses the impact of the Consumer Products Safety Commission on the sale of powersports products for children under 12. (below) This law effectively will stop the sale of all products to this demographic until each product is tested for strict lead content maximums. The law was written to protect children from products that can be put into their mouths, typically toys and small objects, and the Motorcycle Industry Council is soliciting assistance in helping draw the distinction of how a powersports product is used, and how the targeted market is not likely to suffer from lead poisoning via powersports products, apparel and safety gear.
