Here's a vital question, golf fans: Did you know the 27th PGA Grand Slam of Golf, sponsored by the PGA, will be conducted this Tuesday and Wednesday? We were going to take a Rasmussen poll to get a scientific evaluation on the quantity of golfers cognizant of the event, but, like every one else (except AIG perhaps), we here at Eye On Golf have certain budgetary concerns at the present moment.

But that does not mean we are not able to supply all of our readers with pertinent information concerning the event. We have recently received our “e-kit” from Brener, Zwikel & Associates, Inc., the public relations firms in charge of such things. The have provided a wide-ranging supply of links that will get us all up to par on the upcoming event.

So, here's a few of the basic facts you need to know and that will enhance your viewing pleasure.

The participants: the winners of the four major championships during the 2009 golf season. Angel Cabrera, Masters; Lucas Glover, U.S. Open; Stewart Cink, British Open; Y.E. Yang, PGA. In case you were wondering, these four all participated in the recent Presidents Cup and produced a combined record of 4-11-4 against twenty other players who didn't win a major championship in 2009. With this cast of four the event should be a thrill-a-minute for golf fans all over the world – well, except perhaps for Europe.

The venue: Bermuda's Port Royal Golf Course. You can check out a few facts here. Yes, this is same course where four Gitmo detainees found employment in August.

TV schedule: TNT – Tuesday from 4 -7 PM ET and Wednesday from 5-9 PM ET. I guess they think they need the extra hour on Wednesday because of what will surely be a nail-biting finish.

The Winner: Now, of course, we don't know that but our expert odds maker, “Mad Dog” Soriento, has assured us it's pretty much a dead heat with perhaps a slight edge to Y.E. Yang for no apparent reason at all.
