South African auto designer
Remember this name -- Indries Noah-- and remember you read it here first. A talented South African auto designer is making international waves with his eye-catching designs, most recently with a concept for a two-seater BMW sportscar which was inspired by waves.
Idries Noah's M Concept design takes a look at what Bavaria's rival to Audi's beautiful R8 might look like and his realistic computer-rendered 3D model has attracted a lot of interest since recently featuring on UK's Top Gear and other overseas-based websites. ”I grew impatient waiting for BMW to bring out an R8 rival so I decided to design my own version of it,” explained Noah.
"The recipe was simple,” said Noah. “It needed to look aggressive, sleek, agile and totally different from anything on the road today,” he added. Key BMW design Elements such as the trademark grille and hockey-stick C pillar remain.
"My inspiration for this design, however, came from nature, specifically water and the way it flows and ripples,” he said. The M Concept is the latest creation to come from this 35-year old Pretoria, South Africa resident, who first gained fame as a designer of video game automobiles.
However, Noah's sleek sportscar designs landed him a job at GM Holden in Australia where he worked for two years as a ‘Visualization Designer.'” Remember this auto designers name; you will be hearing it and reading it again and again.
