Luxury auto deals available but you have to ask
You may be able to get a good deal on a luxury vehicle now, but you will have to ask.
Despite what the general interest news outlets are saying, this is an excellent time to purchase an automobile. Deals are everywhere it seems – except in the luxury market.
In fact, the luxury market seems to be conducting business as usual even though sales in the luxury market are down one-third from a year ago which is about the same as the total auto industry. The luxury market has not been as insulated from the current economic downturn as predicted.
But judging from the way luxury auto manufacturers and dealers are acting they don’t seem to believe it. Instead of courting customers, the dealers are keeping their normal limited business hours and making buyers search out incentives that mass-market companies make readily available.
When it comes to luxury vehicles, status is a given, so luxury automakers talk a lot about quality and safety – not deals. Fortunately, luxury automakers don’t subscribe to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing that calculates repair costs instead of “real world” auto safety. Luxury automakers have a real stake in auto safety. They want their buyers to survive crashes, continue to make money and purchase more vehicles. In general, luxury automobiles are larger and safer than more mundane vehicles.
Luxury buyers also want the best deal possible (where do you think they got the money to purchase a luxury vehicle in the first place?) and while the luxury dealers usually don’t publicize deals such as leasing incentives and dealer cash – those deals are out there: especially now. Just ask. And in most cases you will receive.
