Sports enthusiasts across the globe love to debate about who the greatest franchise of all time is. In the NBA the debate is only between two teams, the Lakers and Celtics.

The Celtics have appeared in 20 NBA Finals, winning 17 championships. The Lakers have played in 30 NBA Finals and have 15 titles to show for it.

For my money the Celtics are the greatest franchise in NBA history, and they have the rings to prove it.

1. Celtics -20 Finals appearances, 17 NBA titles.

2. Lakers -30 Finals appearances, 15 NBA titles.

3. Bulls -6 Finals appearances, 6 NBA titles.

4. Spurs -4 Finals appearances, 4 NBA titles.

5. Pistons -7 Finals appearances, 3 NBA titles.
