Internet reports have been rampant about Shaq cheating on his wife with the fiancé of Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas. Explicit e-mail messages have been posted online allegedly between Shaq and the fiancé of Arenas, Laura Govan.
Laura Govan and Shaquille O'Neal have reportedly had a sexual relationship for the past five years. Arenas and Govan have been together off and on for eight years. Govan and Arenas are expecting their third child next month.
This is not the first time that Shaq and his wife have gone their separate ways. In 2007 O'Neal filed for divorce in Miami stating this his wife was being secretive with their assets--the couple soon reunited.
Shaq has also been linked in the past to video vixen Karrine Steffans.
"Obviously, this is a difficult time for our family, and we request that the media respect our privacy," Shaquille O'Neal said in a statement. "I will continue to focus on being there for our children and I am confident that Shaunie will do the same."
The O'Neals were married for almost seven years.
