Hiya moms and dads! What do you get when you mix a short story, music, actors and a playwright? You get The Selfish Giant. Based on Oscar Wilde's short story of the same name, The Selfish Giant has the little ones singing, clapping and learning about the production of plays.
A collection of actors, dancers and singers of all ages come together to bring the story of the Selfish Giant to life. Kids learn about how the Giant became selfish in the first place and how he lost his selfishness to become a gentler, kinder giant.
Starting off the show is an introduction into the play production world with lessons on writing, acting and music. In addition, kids get hands on fun by doing an art project before the show. I won't give away what kind of art project because you moms and dadswill have to take the kids to the show to find out.
Presented by the Literally Alive Children's Theater on MacDougal Street, the Selfish Giant runs until October 25. But, don't fret moms and dads. Literally Alive also has several classics coming up this season. Starting November 21, you and the kids can check out A Christmas Carol. Early next year, you can see Cinderella. Coming up in the spring is Treasure Island.
So moms and dads, get the kids over to Literally Alive Children's Theater for a great story and show!
