First Half:
- Miami starts a seven game road trip against a Carmelo-less Denver Nuggets team.
- Miami once again has a slow start as the Nuggets take an 8-0 run due to some sloppy defense.
- The problem is quickly remedied when Joel Anthony picked up two quick ones bringing in Michael Beasley off the bench.
- Michael Beasley lit up the score board with a quick 10 points to get Miami out of a scoring funk, but then picks up some quick fouls early in the second quarter that sat him down for the rest of the half.
- There is nothing like some trade talk to get a player motivated. For the first time all season, we saw Shawn Marion serving himself with out Dwyane Wade spoon feeding him some easy ones.
- Apparently the scouting report doesn't say that Linas Kleiza can score and 15 points later, the Heat are still unaware of the only real Nugget that is making things happen.
Second Half:
- The Heat finally recognized Lines Kleiza as a threat and limited him to just six points in the second half.
- Is there any doubt that the 3rd quarter belongs to Mr.Dwyane Wade.
- Wade started the quarter on fire, scoring 19 points after scoring just two points in the game's opening 15 minutes.
- It seems that with out Daequan Cook in the offense, Dwyane Wade has no last second scapegoat to bail him out with the clock winding down.
- Jamal Crawford, Vince Carter and the Nuggets own J.R Smith, what do they have in common? They love to light it up against the Heat and tonight was no exception with J.R. Smith going 8-14 from the field with 21 points.
- Correct me if I'm wrong but Michael Beasley gets called often for some ticky-tac fouls and yet on the other side he gets hammered going to the basket and the refs seem to look the other way. I know it's the stars that get the calls and the rookie's who have to earn them but it seems to be keeping Michael off the floor a bit too often.
- Miami fought hard to over come the early deficit but down the line that pesky, good rotating defense was just not there. Miami was just not able to keep up offensively with the Nuggets.
UPDATE:
- The talk around the cooler was that the Miami Heat originally had released point guard Shaun Livingston just days before he would be owed a guaranteed contract but now it has been confirmed that he was actually traded to the Memphis Grizzlies along with cash considerations in return for a 2012 conditional second round pick.
- Memphis then waives Livingston just hours after trading for him.
- James Jones is expected to make his debut tonight against the Kings or on Sunday against the Lakers after running his first full contact, no limitation practice in Sacramento early yesterday afternoon.
